Visiting from NYC and was interested in Milan's Chinatown - this ramen place did not disappoint. They serve over 12 different types of noodles; I got the thick hand drawn ones. The beef broth was delicious - full of flavor and the meat was tender and well seasoned. The noodles were perfectly chewy and they served a generous portion. Would definitely go back!

Ramen was born in China, not in Japan. And that's a fact. Check Wikipedia if you don't believe me. In China it's called Lamian, in Korea Ramyon. Basically, the base is always beef stock, cooked for hours with spices, in all three countries. The use of different spices is what makes the difference. Ramen is absolute perfection. Flavorful, rounded tasting broth. Lamian is blander in most places I've tried. Not here. I finally found my Lamian spot in this part of town, not far from home. Lomazzo street, Chinatown, now counts 3 of my favorite restaurants in Milano: Ristorante of Houjie, Wang Jiao and now Ramenamano (meaning Handmade Ramen). Stock was as flavorful as Japanese ramen's, beef was tender, the handmade noodles so tasty, cilantro and chili sauce so perfect in this bowl of paradise. Just €10 for this gem while watching the snow falling outside. Strongly advise to try pickled cucumbers & peanuts, lotus roots, grilled spare ribs (nobody cooks them better than Chinese people). I am starting to suspect I was Chinese or South Eat Asian in a previous life, I would eat like this any day. Love out:)
